Once you have chosen your topic, you will need to prepare a formal outline of your preliminary research that includes the following components:

• a title page;
• a thesis, which states your premise and also addresses why your chosen topic is important to your community’s health;
• your outline; and
• a references page with at least two scholarly references.

They should address the following areas, as appropriate: epidemiology’s scope and importance, goal and objectives, and historical and modern applications.
